I personally think that the sun flipping its field is an effect, not a cause.

I think it makes more sense that planet 9 does exist and that it is a very ancient and very cold brown dwarf. Brown dwarfs can be a little bigger than jupiter, but have a magnetic field that is as strong as our suns.

I wonder if its like when you take two magnets and spin one around the other, what happens?
