Hah, honestly I wish they even attempted that.
All I ever see on this topic from “mainstream” perspectives is “hoax!!!”
No, weren't the Denisovans much bigger than Neanderthals. The ape before neanderthal was taller. Also the jaws with two sets of teeth got called apes?
They replaced it with evolution. Yeah where did they go. Mostly monkeys, and the rest were destroyed for the monkeymen. No hiding that bone it's huge. They faster outlawed opening any more burial mounds.
There were some hoaxes, unlike the coverage on the turn of the century, mid 1800s, early 1900s. So much coverage cannot lie. But it didn't fit a new evolutionary narrative. Because it might make all the Red Indians rebel. They were giants now they're monkeys. Wars have been fought for less. Better call in the Dinosaurs. Flesh eating lizard monsters to scare all the humans away.
In my neck of the woods, not only did they outlaw digging up mounds, they made a folklore around it. If you dig up the mounds, you'll be cursed and something will happen like a bridge collapse.
But a lot of those larger mounds were reported with giants. They go back along time. The mounds that were built into the Earth, often stepped, or raised, and match constellations. Prime Real estate. There a few left in places, many were built over.
Reports of giants go right back to the first settlers and settlements, for centuries. But there was increasing coverage in all the main press outlets up until the early 1900s. Then it all vanished from print. This was at the same time evolution started becoming the narrative. Then dinosaurs replaced the finds.
Ironic that suddenly they all vanished. There's hundreds of finds being aired for centuries. Suddenly no mention today. As in where are they, today? Replaced by dinosaurs never found in history until the 1900s. Laughable.
Mounds were built over or attributed to other people and turned into protected lands. We're told "indigenous" people who haven't progressed beyond a hut were once Earth terra-formers. And they stacked all those rocks up, too.
What I especially like about the American giants were that 1, they were supposedly red-headed and 2, they were found up and down the east coast, Midwest and all the way out to California. They were prolific.
