She HAD braces in early releases. I very well remember her smiling at Jaws in a nerdy, nerd with boobs, way. I have the VHS with it in storage, or I'd post a screengrab. Obviously they did multiple takes with and without braces and later edited for later versions.
The original gag was that both of them had metal on their teeth, hence he was attracted figuring she was okay with him and his teeth, duh. The 'never had braces' is BS.
They edit like that a lot. I have a copy of "How to Murder Your Wife' that was the original release where they sang a dirge at the bachelor party. Later they edited it out of subsequent releases.
There are plenty of people who insist on things when they don't have the full history. I'm lookin at YOU Jan 6 committee, hee hee.
NEVER give in to the pressure of the masses, or loud mouths. Of course we know that is true, having been through the utter shit the Marxists threw us with BLM.
On the issue of orchestrated effort, not necessarily for the reasons you might think. What happens is, some movies get post-release re-edits. This is extremely common. Some reasons for this are: director wants some edits to improve the flow of the movie; some do it to clean up mistakes; sometimes a star demands late changes; some do it to change the length due to medium (over the years and technologies - laserdisc versus tape versus DVD, and also because there are different releases for TV, cable).
Star Wars alone has had many, MANY edits over the years for example.
Then there was China telling Disney to go piss off with LGBQT in the Buzz Lightyear movie. For once I agree with China.
Some but not all that much is done for psych op reasons. Specifically there is a bunch of politically correct BS in Hollywood that affects things. I agree that Hollywood does have a lot of political influence driving some things.
I think that video is a fake. If you open up both versions, and toggle, you will see that they are an exact copy aside from the braces, including the reflection in her glasses. No actor and film crew can shoot the same scene that exact, which means it's post work. And back then, it would have needed to have been done at great expense.
