My prediction, given the state of public opinion on this, recent history, and court cases, that the most we get is a ban on 80% lowers (homemade guns) or so called "ghost guns."
I agree. But the 3d printing and the 80% receivers are qualitatively different. It's not just zip guns, which used to be a thing, or the rare shop teacher who could make a revolver at home.
Frankly, I think the idea of a world where gun control is literally impossible, when 3d printing becomes commonplace, scares a lot of people. That fear, I think, is what is driving the "ghost gun" thing more than anything else, because they started in on that crap before the most recent mass shooting.
Zip guns aren't much of thing anymore, because it's cheaper and easier to get black market guns if you're a criminal. At least, I've not heard about them in the news, nor the term "Saturday night special" lately, because guns are cheap these days. Some yo in the ghetto isn't going to go all McGyver and figure out how to make a gun, if he even could.
Guns are cheaper and more plentiful now for law-abiding types than when surplus military guns flooded the market after WWII. It's difficult to believe, but it's true when you look at where things are at.
What's a guy like you doing in a place like th...oh....I see....
Hahaha! I'm just kidding around,.this is the first thing that popped in my head. No offense, I love the sentiment of your post, don't get the wrong idea.

I'm not fucking giving in my pistols and rifles. They can get that idea out of their fucking mind.
When they ban the guns I own, they won't need to come to my house for them, I'll be bringing them to theirs.
