Yes. I put down a object at my porch, the shadow cast from the sun was almost twice as long as the object. The sun currently is over the area around Bangkok. That would put the sun more than 5000 miles away from me.
I did not do any more documentation then write down the length of the shadow compared to the length of the object casting the shadow, and track the real time position of the sun. Currently the sun is over southern Algeria.
Are you not able to replicate any of this? Set a object on a level surface in the sun, mark how long the shadow cast from it is, then flip the object over, and see how long it is compared to the shadow.
You do not have to do any thing. If you think someone has documented and published it, start doing some research on the topic. If not, that is your choice, and your choice only.
