Skeptic Joe Nickell is quoted with pertinent facts and plausible theory; he loves finding flaws in cases like this. "Spontaneous human combustion" has never been proven, primarily because by definition you're talking about someone who caught on fire for unknown reasons and usually didn't live to tell about it.
Now spontaneous combustion directed by humans to other materials is indicated by the Bible and may be replicable in the present day. Our friend u/Graphenium would love to inform you more about that.
But a single image of a debunked ambiguous case isn't going to carry the day.
I was thinking of the people jumping from the twin towers who were tearing at their clothes. If there were energy weapons directed at the towers, it seems it could trigger some of the same mechanisms if the EM theory of SCH has merit.
Gut explosion. Like feeding rats cola? Fart fire. Either belch or fart, and boom. It ignited from nearby candles or fire. Most were obese and alcoholics, drinking in those days moonshine, higher percentages.
Perhaps there's more to it?
Or they're pyromanics producing a combustible acid that burnt them very quickly causing no other damage. Plenty of skin types are very oily. Others where the body doesn't breakdown hydrogen.
But no other damage apart from the greasy soot left all over the walls, and partial limbs remaining, suggests an acidic reaction, possibly igniting from other nearby sources. Look to the right propane lamp?
What's that theory called where it says all the crazy combinations of food additives, and the chemicals in hygiene products, as well as the chemicals in our surroundings cause this?
i just heard of the SHC theory involving electromagnetism about 5 minutes before posting this. wanted to see if others has heard of it or had more to offer.
Just heard it my self. Our reality is an electromagnetic construct that can be affected by our consciousness. Someone opens the wrong mental door in a dream or something somehow changes their personal vibration and it's like overheating a circuit-breaker. I guess.
I was hoping others had heard of the theory and could elaborate more. The theory as I understand it explains why nearby objects and even body parts would remain unconsumed.
This comment makes me think of the theory that some addicts invite something into them, and they can't get ride of it because they weren't strong enough to be fucking around with that in the first place.
Idk if they're the same theory, or if they're just intertwined.

I wonder if some of the cases could be directed energy weapons.

It's really creepy to me!

guess not :)
That's a new theory to me. Could you please elaborate?

It's odd they didn't do forensics in the 80s to test for petrochemicals such as kerosine seeing as there's a kerosine lamp next to the chair.
