In Maryland your pocket knife can't be bigger than the palm of your hand. When I was a teenybopper my lil bros pocket knife was legal for him, and about 3 inches too long for the palm of my hand.
Even as an adult woman ( yes I said it!) I couldn't hold his knife. I had to use it, and give it back because MoCo area police were always bad.
They had a knife that looked like a gun. They were intentionally being obscure.
