Dead Internet (aka Digital Wall) in the easy steps: 1) search for something on a search engine 2) notice the "billions of results" 3) page through results abs notice there's only several hundred, many from the same sources. (youtu.be)

Which signals the indignant fall of humanity. An appalling and spectacular demise.

Why do people hold any hope, or do they expect anything will turn for the better, even if everything has all but stated WILL NOT?

hope is the only thing people have left sometimes. it's a double edged sword. you can have hope that things can turn out well, even if all falls around you too. misplaced hope is a bad thing that too many people put their faith into

At this point, all hope is misplaced.

I remember the time before Search Engines.

When Yahoo! was about wrestling.

When DMOZ had curated subject guides with great websites listed.

When related websites had Webrings linked to each other so you could explore a topic from enthusiastic hobbyists.

When flaming skull gifs were everywhere.

When people posted links to the websites they liked.

When you could chat in IRC without some admin banning your channel (though channels still had jannies - but that was for griefers).

We all thought that was the future, unfettered freedom without corporate overlords running the show.

Then the normies came.

We called it The September That Never Ended

Jesus Christ.

On topic its not a dead internet.

Just need to take over google by force, imprison the criminals for crimes against humanity....and let the 'do no evil' people take over.

There are google barges around the world. Start there.
