I had no interest until you mention black blob AI. The Black Goo thing goes way back to the 80s, Xfiles co-opted it (the show is loaded with occulted info), they found it with mummies in egypt, but it's never gained much interest as a whole but it is a piece of the puzzle IMO. If they put it in this movie, it's worth paying attention to. And while EVIL always deceives, it has no ability to create or be creative, therefore the deceit always has truth to it because it has to rehash the ideas that are already in existence.
