Are they doing bad things other than blasting copyrighted music? I watched a video where a city councilman confronted a cop blasting music in the middle of the night in what appeared to be a nice neighborhood. That’s all the cops were doing. Showed up to the middle of the street in the middle of the night and woke everyone up, for no apparent reason. Forget about the copyright issue, why are the cops doing this? What are they trying to achieve?
You are deflecting the issue. The point is that they are deliberately making it so fewer people see their illegal behavior (unrelated to playing music).
The police have been caught on camera committing crimes and behaving unethically. Those videos have been shared. The music is a way to prevent the sharing by having anti-piracy algorithms kick in.
Things done in the past run the gamut from planting evidence, police brutality and more.
If a cop is breaking the law while being recorded by their body/dash cam they know that they could get caught and punished more easily if the video goes viral. However, if the cop plays Disney music and a citizen posts that video on Youtube to let the public know, youtube will pull the video off the site because Disney enforces their copyrights very hard.

A good cop would arrest the few 'bad eggs'. If a cop turns a blind eye they are a bad cop. The fact that there are so many bad eggs is evidence that ACAB.
