You want to say that now US lost not only high quality manufacturing abilities that was traded for cheap china labour, but also high quality engineering skills it was famous for. Pity. Same happened with Russia decades ago and it is not good at all. So who is developing all modern high-tech stuff now?
But where they outsource engineering? At the time, Russia outsource it to the West. In the form of good engineers emigration and supressing local R&D by stupid economic and other stuff. Now West outsourcing engineering. To where?
Really I often mix up all that "past, past perfect, present perfect" and other times and confused with articles. Also, since in Russian order of words does not matter I often speak in Yoda style. And I have awful Russian accent. Not because I can't correctly pronounce all that "th" and "r" English-specific sounds, Soviet curriculum based on Oxford textbooks included correct pronounce, but because I'm to lazy to do it right way. :)

Engineering at most companies these days is mostly integration work which has created a different way of thinking
