Thesis A: They're lying about the numbers, and medical debt has become so shocking that most would no longer qualify for a month-to-month phone plan.

Thesis B: Easing qualification rules is literally written in black and white, so they backdoor the effect by snapping their fingers and vanishing (the recognition of) medical debt.

Thesis C: TPTB don't want anyone to realize the alarming state of affairs of medical debt, and they certainly don't want these entities making the work easy, so they make sure it's not available.

Thesis D: The pit our society is digging for itself via debt slavery is now deeper, so that fewer ever wonder if we'll ever get out.

And if you think you're in the clear by not having medical debt and staying healthy, all I can say is I've never crashed my car into anyone or anything, but I've got to pay a shocking amount for legally required auto insurance for all the people who have.
