Ukraine and Nukes | After a New York Times reporter grossly distorted what Putin and Zelensky have said and done about nuclear weapons, Steven Starr corrects the record and deplores Western media, in general, for misinforming and leading the entire world in a dangerous direction. So Ukraine was going to rescind the Budapest Memorandum for fear of an imminent invasion. How long does it take to develop nuclear weapons and delivery systems? DAE have the sneaking suspicion that they may have had some already laying around and needed some quick legitimacy before whipping them out?

Hang on 1 second Zelenskyy called to change policy on Nuclear weapons once Russian build up was reaching peak levels. He called on any military aid possible. Which is exactly what Nato membership would provide, security often in the form of deterrence. He was also in the process of acquiring the Iron Dome. Rejected by Congress but a deal was possibly being brokered.

As far as a position of war with nukes. There was certain policy and agreement made in regards to their use prior to the Russian advance. It was agreed for them to be primarily defensive use. Not much has changed except heightened alerts. Not every power signed. Only the leading Security Council. What exactly is defensive use? But that said there is an understanding of it with them. Where hasn't a hotline been established with Washington? Even perhaps on the issue yesterday with the reactor.

The aim of this article is to calm fears that they won't be used. What does that mean exactly. I can run dozens of scenarios where from war they could be. I won't no need too. But in any conflict with rival policies colliding there is growing uncertainty and instability.
