Psychology is largely irreproducible pseudoscience, but the last I checked into it schizophrenia (multiple personality disorder) was ONLY caused by sexual abuse/trauma - typically as a child.
They've identified a gene in the immune system that's strongly correlated with schizophrenia. It seems that if you get an infection that crosses the blood brain barrier, like Lyme disease or toxoplasmosis from cat litter, you can get an over reaction for those who are susceptible.
I also know that trauma, meth, marijuana and related drugs such as Vivance can trigger an episode.
The immune system connection was a breakthrough discovery, and it does lead to potential treatments involving antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs, but they make too much money off of psyche med.s to make this standard practice.
toxoplasmosis is fucking weird all on its own, something like half the world has it. Makes chicks more promiscuous and slightly raises males testosterone. hmm
It's a weird one for sure. When I was diagnosed with autoimmune issues it was one of the things my doctor tested me for. I was negative but she said she thinks the numbers are either exaggerated or could be just high by including places like India and Africa.
When talking with someone, even a friend or family member—It’s not paranoid to consider you may be talking to a socio/psychopath. You get better at identifying them as you age.
yeah i think of alot mental illness is just past emotional trauma, but on the topic of MPD, I should have clairrified but i when i said schizophrenia I was referring to auditory hallucinations apposed to multiple personalities.
Tell us what it’s called now, captain hotshit fuckface, be productive in this community or GTFO and don’t look back. Have a nice day, unless you’re a glowfagget.
What do you think of foreign language syndrome? I don't know what it's called but some people hit their head or something and start speaking french or some shit.
Look into Peter Breggin. He has some wonderful thoughts on psychology and more specifically treating with drugs (he believes they are extremely harmful). He has some wonderful books and he's got some stuff up on YouTube. His podcast is a bit painful for me - kinda meandering and slow, so not my cup of tea, but I'm sure there is great info in there too.
While I have no proof to back this up, I’m positive that 90% of mental illness is caused by trauma as a child, with the remaining percentage caused by a mix of genetics or chemicals messing with the brain.
There's clinically reproducible findings in terms if alterations to brain density and esp neurotransmitters. The discipline is polluted though and often leveraged for political purposes
Yeah np. If you want examples of ones that are far less biologically based look into multiple personalities, phobias, and attachment disorders. Some of these can be explained using behavior psychology (ie stimulus reward) but they don't seem to usually.
A wise person once said to me, “All psychology sciences do is train you to cohabitate with your demons.” It’s a pseudoscience and it deserves no defence.
Schizophrenia is an extreme example when merely depression is the fakest if all.

-Also extremely manipulative people that can act however they want and blame mental illness with falsified “experiences”

As you get older you also realize how dangerous those people can be and shudder at your younger naiveté

or did you mean they were the same thing?
A lot of schizo is faked,or at least faked until the drugs kick in then it seems legit
A lot of people who are having mental issues are gaslit into having full-on psychosis.
no doubt theres some nasty shit going on with the pharma side of this
schizophrenia and mpd are entirely different things. mpd is no longer called mpd, it’s did now. has been for decades.
this is a ridiculous fucking comment

Jung was owed the helm of Psychology of Freud, but it was stolen from him.
Jung is 100% legit.
He's a nutbar.
I like him though.
Schizophrenia is distinct from multiple personality disorder. Schizophrenics hear voices in their heads and think that aliens are hiding in the walls.
Jerry Marzinsky.
oh shit , thanks ill check it out
I think you're cataloguing users.
What do you think of foreign language syndrome? I don't know what it's called but some people hit their head or something and start speaking french or some shit.
It's foreign accent syndrome. They don't speak the language, they just sound like they do while speaking their usual language.
I got hit and forgot two and a bunch of other stuff .

I have read that there is a difference in brain size and white gray matter. thanks for the insight

Second comment about image: who has a Ferrari but yet somehow also has to use their garage as an office? Definitely a loaner
I’ve seen this image from an ad on youtube about not going to college or some shit
interesting input, drugs do seem to be a common trend with many cases.
