S.Africa has only taken 30 tests per 100 people. Although having said that the UK has taken 600 tests per 100 people and they have nowhere near Israels case rate either.
There is another side to this. Research into the original SARS-1 virus found antibodies to the spike protein (S-IgG) caused the severe disease. If the same is true of SARS-2, the most recently vaccinated populations would have the highest levels of spike protein antibody already circulating. When Israel went for the 4th wave of shots did that make them the most recently vaccinated population?
