In any case, I believe those are shill posts you're talking about. They were (and still are to some degree, but the focus is now calls to violence, but I digress) being timed to coincide with external reports of hate speech being found in online venues. They are a serious problem for us, our ability to engage with diverse people, our ability to gain insight and the future of free speech online.
In my view, banning such accounts is not a freedom of speech issue because they aren't here to engage in a serious discussion (and what they talk about is entirely off-topic). To the contrary, they are here to thwart efforts to that end. Even if we can't conclude with absolute certainty that they are shills, their behavior is indistinguishable from that of paid shills with the intent of disrupting our hard and important work.
