Thanks for pointing this out! This is a motif of a number of Scriptures, although none of them seem a direct fulfillment; in Rev. 13:2 the wings are missing. I've suggested an indirect relation to Is. 30:6 and similar passages:
"The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them."

I think it's cool and even kids would like it.
That's the point of it, to look attractive to those that do not understand the implications.
