Not an Elon, but I think there are a possible intentional consumption of enormous computing power available today.
There is nothing special in space flight calculations fitting into 4kb RAM. There is something special in filling 8Gb of RAM with useless garbage of insane number of useless layers of abstractions "necessary" to show simple hypertext page.
Computers is the only technology that allowed to develop on Earth since 1970s. Seems they needed for them to build what they want to build here. But they don't want to really give that computing power to the people. So, we have all that modern garbage with stupid and fat fancy programming languages, fat and hungry abstractions, stupid bells and wistles that eats all profit to not allow real use of available computing power.

Bring back command prompt, ditch the GUI and have all that power at your disposal. The common user won’t/can’t hack it but there are those who can.
