WTF: Sidney Powell Tells Judge ‘No Reasonable Person’ Would Believe Her Dominion Conspiracy Theories Were ‘Statements of Fact’ (lawandcrime.com)

I am genuinely surprised by this latest statement from Sidney Powell, noting:

  • She was a credible lawyer with success in 500 real world cases in top USA courts.

  • She did claim to have mountains of evidence. Multiple times.

  • She was supported initially by the President & his team.

  • She was given a platform on the largest media outlet(s).

(1) Those (above) are all reasons that reasonable people may see her as a credible source.

(2) Does she really believe anyone will by this recent claim?

(3) More to the point: why is she back-peddling? (Is the evidence is no longer available to her?)

ps. She even recently claimed her "release the kraken" comment was totally meaningless - that she was flustered, and simply blurted-out a made-up phrase. No, I am sorry - that was a planned statement, and repeated.

She's not back peddling. She's forcing the prosecution to argue her own case for her.

From the top comment of r/conspiracy:

It's a motion to dismiss. In a defamation case, Dominion will have to show they've actually been damaged by her comments. If Powell's theories are so outrageous then the lawsuit would be dismissed.

She's arguing that if her theories are so crazy and defamatory then Dominion couldn't have been harmed because they're so crazy that no reasonable person would believe them, and thus, Dominion could not have suffered harm. The article is written quite cleverly.

Dominion either has to accept that her theories are believable enough, as in actually possible, in order for them to be defamed. So which is it, Dominion?

Insane, absurd conspiracy theories that couldn't possibly be true? Or worthy of a defamation suit?

This is how civil lawsuits work.

Pay no attention to the sad looking images from the media and the bias slant portraying her. A court room is a small room with a defined set of rules. Rules she understands all too well.

This. Dominion has to argue that a reasonable person would believe it and here’s why...

So, after one year, how is this case coming along?

A quick search on the topic shows that it's just gotten weird and unfocused.

Yes indeed. As predicted, her claims were all bullshit.

Looking back, it is really hilarious to see how many people fell for these grifters.

You have drawn conclusions where there are none. I assume no such thing.

And to be honest, you are not looking back. You were looking forward to this. What did you do, book mark this thread to be reminded in a year? Or drunkenly recall this over a 12 pack of Labatt blue?

PS: someone down voted you, and it was not me. Which seems odd for a reply in a year old thread.

She wasn't back peddling. They quoted her out of context. They didn't quote THE REST of her statement which said something about awaiting verification or something like that.

We have to remember that she is a big target and all media will misquote her to make her look bad.

And they are trying to divide us.

She was supported initially by the President & his team.

Note how they dropper her when they figured out how batshit craze she was.

I remember when they announced that she wasn't part of Trump's legal team. The tears were delicious that day.
