I’m not talking about needing a battlefield commander because of civil unrest, but instead because nations like Russia and China are both gearing up military aggression globally and the USA doesn’t function like the crazy powerful weapon of doom we all know it is unless it has a competent leader at the helm.
Due to the current US political atmosphere I suspect that ~maybe~ Generals sit on the Joint Chiefs of Staff not because of their battlefield prowess, but because they know how to play the political game well and can work nice appointments. So, finding a competent leader on the Joint Chiefs of Staff is questionable and unreliable similar to the US situation prior to WW2.
So with Russia and China acting like meanies, and quality of the JCOS unreliable, would you rather a guy like Powell, Schwarzkopf, Eisenhower, or Flynn commanding the USA, or Trump, Biden, or god forbid Harris manning battlestations?
