As for the OP, his title does not match the article. The IRS is going to go after tax cheats. This is news, how, exactly?

Yea, and? How does that have anything to do with "what is man made can be unmade?"

Right now, the major wallet services report very large transactions to the IRS. Have for a few years now.

There are ways to launder money in crypto, actually as easy or as hard as doing it with cash.
