Stephen Mitchell’s translation of Tao de Ching is my favorite. It’s not a literal translation, but a modern language interpretation. (Ex. Where the text says “warhorse” he says “nuclear warhead” because they are/were the baddest weapon an army could possess and that was the point of the verse)
