I remember my mom laughing in 2003 when i talked to her about the slippery slope. I told her, if we allow indefinite detention without criminal charges, surveillance, etc etc— what if someone comes into power that uses these means against Christians instead of muslims 50 years from now? She laughed and told me it would never happen. “This is America. And I have nothing to hide!” I’m glad she’s dead because I don’t want her to know what will be happening in the next 3 years— She would be losing her job and getting cancelled in 2021.
