You raise fair nuance, but that guys theory has an explanation for why it’s the scent or aroma [if you want some more “flowery” language ;) ]
It’s a VERY interesting explanation, I’d love to hear your thoughts when/if you get to that part, I don’t remember where exactly it is in the series, towards the start I think, after the part on Ruach
No, and I didn’t want to spoil it because it sounds a bit crazy, but coming from his credentials, with his explanation and build up it makes more sense.
But to sum it up, the gods mentioned in the bible have grown accustomed to the smell of burnt flesh due to its omnipresence in.... Space ships... please, don’t let the shocking nature of that interfere with checking out his information. NASA is on record stating that this is the smell produced by human skin in a false atmosphere, omni-present in the ISS
Astronauts returning from space claim that their suits smell, in a word, burnt. The lingering scent of space is “acrid” and “metallic,” reminding the astronauts of charred meat or welding fumes.
He's an expert in Hebrew and he translates the Masoretic Text and he is a Catholic Freemason.
I am a dumbass who knows nothing.
He is talking about the same mysteries I have been interested in for the last few years.
And I think his proposed theory is crap.
In regards to Hebrew, which is all consonants, he says:
"The second work they did was inserting the vowels that were not there. And inserting the vowels actually means inserting the meaning of the words." (inserting their own theology)
Then he follows with "therefore, we just don't know at all"...and then some minutes down the road "I'm not telling you what to think, but here is a UFO."
I'm not against UFO's but this ain't the answer to the question for me. I've wanted it to be UFO's and studied the ancient texts about Vimanas and Ezekiel's Wheel and everything you could find on the internet or under the Sun.
I think I have a better explanation. For me, it's definitely 100% the one.
Divine Substances (Medicine)
Plant spirits, spirit of the vine, holy herb, etc.
The double edged sword. The caduceus. Minoan snake goddess. Cure and tragedy. Anesthesia for surgery in the ancient world. Etcetera.
And I'm not promoting drug use or abuse, but this it. This is where deities and gods and tribes and civilizations are born. If you want to know how the megaliths were built, this is how.
IMO the biggest conspiracy ever, was hiding this knowledge. This is our evolution, we discovered medicine through herbalism.
Ancient religions actually employed a ritual (Sabbath/Mass) where you rest (like God did). It is the the time for rest and relaxation. The weekend. Reconnecting with spirit. Revelry and revelation. The flesh and blood of Christ, is psilocybin mushrooms and wine. These things are stronger than nukes. They can cripple the strongest man. Or make him the strongest man.
Almighty God and the Messiah.
And I might as well just finish it out by saying deities / faeries / aliens / demons / angels are hallucinogenic manifestations from which we created our reality, our origin stories, our ancient cultures, our religions, our Gods, our myths and legends.
Did you get to the part about the burnt offering and the smell of skin exposed to the vacuum? Idk I value this guys interpretation, not as some indisputable fact but as another lens with with to view something that’s become basically set in stone to many and is no longer up for interpretation. I don’t think he even tries to assert what he’s saying as fact, just his understanding based on a lifetime of study and professional work as a Hebrew translator.
I’m not saying your theories are wrong, they clearly tap into truth like we were talking about the other day with all the various divine substances (another one not mentioned but u/rightsidefunding and I had an interesting convo about, is diviner’s sage). However don’t you think they’re a bit limiting? What if these entities are both the plants AND the etheric spiritual entities AND the effects of man imbibing the plant, instead of just hallucinogenic manifestions, which implies they’re derived solely from our brain.

Are we talking about cannabis / poppy now?
There are situations where burnt offering implies food, while at other times it implies inhaling a psychoactive substance. Like the Oracle at Delphi.
Saying "God" likes the burnt offering best is like saying you treated yourself to something very spiritual. Entheogens bring out God.
It is my opinion that God/Jesus refers to entheogens and the psychedelic experience, but this understanding has been lost overtime due to prohibition.

Sounds like a fun rabbit hole for this evening. I'll check it out.
