Thank you for the perspective. What percentage of the population would you estimate actually supports Navalny? We always hear about how Putin enjoys tremendous popular support even if he is enriching himself on the side and the people understand this. I got suspicious of Navalny after the poisoning incident because it seemed just as much of a sham as the Skirpal incident in the UK. Same playbook.
Also is there a sense of who Putin's successor would be if he does step down? And what's the deal with these cases in recent years where the Russian govt resigns? I saw reports on this on Jan 16th in both 2020 and 2021. Does a legislative session convene yearly where there is typically high turnover or is this something less common?

There are no more than approx. 2% who are ready to follow him actively (protests, financing, etc.) and approx. 30-40% who agree with him on some points. And 100% know that his investigations on wealth of government officials and their friends are completely legit.

It is possible. However, it does not matter, was it a sham or not, the main thing is that Navalny uncover total FSB incompetence. This is real, there are no any competent employees in all that three-letter agencies. Soviet ones already retired, new ones come to racket and bribe. Navalny destroyed myth about "allmighty competent FSB/KGB". Total corruption in agencies was already perfectly known beforehand.
Navalny is definitely murky fellow, and he could sham, lie and propagandize, like any other politician.

No. And it really does not matter, since all his circle will stay in place. They could easily do the trick with Medvedev again, f.e. and nothing will change. The problem is a system built by liberal authorities, and the only purpose of that system is to suck resources from the country and people and rise the wealth of oligarchs and officials. Also it is important, that this system is totally approved by the West. And highly likely, when somebody will try to break that system, West will actively resist.

It was only in 2020. And it is just some internal rotation somehow connected with changes to constitution made in summer. Nothing changed. Really it does not matter how they rotate that dumb thieves in government, and it does not matter what they do with constitution, because every single state employee just spit on that constitution on every move or action.
It sounds as though Russia truly deals with a lot of the same issues as every other western government. Switch out the names and the story could be identical to elsewhere. Especially the bit about the west actively resisting any attempt to break the cycle of parasitism.
Exactly. This all is not about East vs West, or US vs Russia, it is about TPTB and their shills and humanity. And everything is developing according to one single script.
