According to ronald bernard there can be vicious infighting and turf wars among the elite (who number 8000-8500). Also not all of the factions are out to cause harm. That being said if even the basic conspiracy notions about the illuminati are true, it is impossible for anyone to hold a position of power without being beholden or otherwise an agent.
I'm with janet ossebaard though- I don't see how trump could make these people lose their ****ing minds to the extent they do, if he were one of them. My sense is the NWO timeline has been sped up because they are being exposed, challenged and held up for scrutiny.
