Irrelevant. There may have been an agent, but that agent could not control the information presented. The signals intelligence that the liberty was collecting would have let them know the israelis were going for the west bank and johnson would have told them to stand down. The only reason this didn't happen is that it caught everybody (US, USSR and the jordanians) by surprise. That is why the liberty was attacked.

This is bullshit. The US had no forces in the area capable of "taking over the middle east". The israelis were worried that lyndon johnson would get wind that the paratroop brigade was shifted from the sinai to the west bank and would have stopped the war before the israelis could seize the west bank.
