Most normies just assume that public institutions exist to serve, rather than prey upon, them. They largely know that the state will drop bombs on people to generate profits, etc., but they think the state won't target them.
Numemberg Schmurenberg. ;)
I think what they're going to end up doing it talking about making it compulsory but end up using draconian disincentives (restricting ability to take planes, etc.) rather than legal obligation (which would violate the Nuremberg code I think). These states want control of their populations but without historical accountibility. "Nudge theory" etc.
Non-compliance and non-violent retaliation against businesses and institutions abusing their power. One business I was forced to deal with (as it's a monopoly) abused its power so I made sure to cost them money by fucking with them.
Yeah his docs are kind of his own idiosyncratic take on things and, as such, are limited (probably necessary to get BBC funding) but fun because they're not dry and his perspective's pretty unique. His recent "Can't Get You Out of My Head" was pretty good (with a lot of riffing on past ideas that Curtis has talked about).
They're detained because China considers them an internal threat. The "war on terror" wasn't against Muslims in America: it was predominantly a justification for military intervention and for the creation of a domestic counter-insurgence apparatus (that will mostly likely be deployed against conservatives rather than Muslims).
Heya... sucks when they go after your alts (which you need on reddit given it's infeted with commie mods). They did that to me after a briefly ran a subreddit (that they ended up banning without giving me a reason) documenting crime and murder committed by commies in US city. Welcome to the win network community!
Words largest pasta producter. If they get hit by a "cyber attack" and there's some kind of pasta shortage then that'll certainly be interesting.
