Adam Curtis - Hypernormalisation

Covers the Assad’s really well in a way no western media ever does.

Is the paper floating around or just rumours/descriptions of it?

2020 Galaxy brain take = fuck big oil to make big oil babies, boom renewable energy bitch.

▲ 1 ▼
Graphenium 1 point ago +1 / -0

So maybe... if we engineered a high methane environment we could renewably produce “new” oil and long chain HCs. If only there were absurdly large pockets of methane trapped in various places like permafrost and deep sea veins...

Astroturf = plastic (unnatural) made to look like grass (natural)

Astroturfing = retards/shills/people who can’t think for themselves (unnatural) domination discourse so completely you can’t see any dissenting opinions (natural) leading people who don’t know better to think the only thing people agree on is the shill comments.

Negative as in satanic, of course that’s what I meant!

I am a strange (positive feedback) loop

What makes you say this? The Ra Material or something else?

Edit: or is this based on the Adam and Eve story by Chan(?) I think, vaguely remember that post being similar

▲ 1 ▼
Graphenium 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hahaha, also similar in that it likewise tells you the answer to life, the universe, and everything, without actually telling you.

I mixed up the name, like the other guy mentioned, it’s called Jupiter Ascending with Mila Kunis, and it’s a movie, or I guess it’s a documentary technically speaking

says the mental midget who’s shared nothing but “reeee orang man bad” articles from the lamestream media

Just calls it like I sees it chump.

I know right? The perfect movie to encapsulate the idea of “hiding in plain sight”. Wrap the truth in a fiction so ridiculous that any discussion of the root truth can be dismissed with “ what, you mean like that stupid fucking movie with mila kunis? LOL”

Great post. It seems like incentives were misaligned on Reddit in such a way that a negative feedback loop of its worst attributes hardened those attributes into core principles of the site. The “meme-ification” or if you’re a hip fellow kid, the flanderization of reddit.

Edit: GOLD?!? Well thanks kind strnger!

It’s a classic dilemma but hopefully the community can do most of the work through rewarding effort and good faith contributions and downvoting the bullshit.

I try to atleast, which you have to admit is a step above the default.

So enlighten me, what is your worldview? Are we programs running snippets of code in a simulation? Wet automata marching towards the heat death of the universe? I’ve shared a lot of what I think I’d love to hear the same from you.

▲ 1 ▼
Graphenium 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think, therefore I am.

Graphenium 1 point ago +1 / -0

When did I call it the default to be believed a priori? Never. I said it was a conclusion I came to over a long time based on every single thing i saw, experienced, or otherwise absorbed over that time.

You’re obviously free to come to your own conclusions, but I’d hope you’d remain open to changing your mind.

Funny metaphor you got there... what happens when daddy bic stops making new lighters for you to fuel your debt slavery cycle? You certainly can’t build a new one from scratch. Well you’re gunna wish you had access to the old knowledge.

Forgive the stretch just working with what I’m given

Graphenium 1 point ago +1 / -0

I mean...

I asked if you considered there to be anything beyond the material: you basically said no =materialist

You intimated you believe there is no point to existence =nihilist

And no I wouldn’t call you a communist, atleast not yet. What is your stance on the bourgeois?

Well how often did you part your hair in a way that went against your natural hairline without looking like a fop or comb over?

I have long hair and have never once changed where the parting line is. I don’t think you can (while having it look how this comparison photo looks), but hey I’m no expert. Certainly seems weird af to delete all your social media then appear noticeably different from how you naturally appear.

somewhere off-planet and wholly inaccessible except and unless drugs and/or feats of extraordinary self-abasement are involved?

That’s a weird way of describing “focusing on your breath to facilitate your connection with and understanding of nature”. And where does off-planet come from? Everything in the video I linked to you is self contained within humanity. Nothing in nature is supernatural.

You can’t just change where along your skull your hair parts. A hairline is an intrinsic feature of someone’s head, you can comb hair over it but not change where the line itself appears...

Try it in a mirror with a comb.
