Studying the Hundred Years War (HYW, 1337-1435) for fun and found several common themes happening in relation to now:

People migrating to other areas. (In the HYW it was from the effects of Bubonic and other actual plagues.)

What if CCP ownership of these social media sites is the best way to gather data on which people to remove first?
If you were leading the invasion team, would you want a bunch of rebellious people claiming to be for your cause running around and destroying everything you build because of twisted logic?
If you were CCP and executing operations on strategic points, would you want subversion of your goals by people who have difficulty deciding which restroom to use?
If you just released a bioweapon, wouldn't owning these various websites be a great way to get partial results for how different parts of the population are affected by your bioweapon?
