This was reported on financial news media. I was streaming MSNBC or something and the woman who was the anchor for the show said. You wouldn't believe how many people in thia very building I sit would profit from an event like this. 5 sec later it was a commercial break and she was not behind the desk anymore after the break. Gone. It was all insider BS
Did Don Henley play "Inside Job" on Jay Leno in 2001 a few weeks after the 09/11 attack?

Yes, but there’s an important correction to the date.
Don Henley did appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in September 2001, shortly after 9/11. Getty’s archive identifies the appearance as September 6, 2001, with Trisha Yearwood and Don Henley performing.
So that was actually before September 11, not a few weeks afterward.
And the song was “Inside Job”, the title track from Henley’s 2000 album. The song contains the rather striking line:
“It was an inside job by the well-connected.”
The album itself predates 9/11 by more than a year, and Henley was already performing material from it on his 2000 Inside Job tour.
So I think you may be remembering a different Henley/Leno appearance, or possibly a rerun/rebroadcast after 9/11. The September 6 appearance is particularly interesting because it would have been five days before the attacks, rather than afterward.
If you want, I can dig specifically for the actual post-9/11 Leno appearance and what Henley performed, because I suspect that's the one you're remembering.
