There are similar stories of Adam and Eve, Noah, and Abraham and Sara in the Hindu religion.

Mesopotamian myths, by the way.

And yes, Christianity is influenced by Buddhism. But Buddhism doesn't try to force EVERYONE to worship buddha under the fear of death.
