Very dangerous time in our history. major powers have not attacked each other directly for 80 years. Nuclear deterrence served as the primary mechanism for preventing direct, large-scale conflict between the US & USSR during the Cold War. This was described as Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).
But, that's over now many players have missiles and drones capable of inflicting considerable damage to nuclear power nations. Case in point the situation in Ukraine and Iran.
