I see it from a different perspective, I don't think anything is neutral. I think the 'ghost in the machine' is actually devils using this tech as a vessel to murder, steal and destroy humanity, as they do in other ways.
Not to forget also using human brain cells in organoid intelligences for neural networking.
But, I'm just a conspiracy theorist..
