I think it fell more into a creation vs Creator story line.
Turning from the creator doesn't change the course of the creator...it only spins the created against each other.
Notice also that you used VS (circular) and LINE (linear) in the same sentence...that represents you sustaining the contradiction within self, while perpetuating it outwards towards others.
Allow me to rephrase, the free will of the creation turns itself on the Creator, if it chooses to, it can also turn itself to the Creator, by free will of choice.
TO implies "towards"...that's creator giving allowance towards being. ME implies being taking possession over self, while being given allowance to be.
Notice that asking for allowance among beings turns into a conflict (allow vs deny). Asking makes answers optional, while distracting from primary origin of choice being given.
