There are civilian experiments which rely on equipment left on the Moon. You can be pretty confident we actually went there and left shit behind. In the case of Apollo; literally, there are bags of shit on the moon.
With the LRO sending back photos of the rover, lander, etc., it becomes increasingly difficult to deny the moon landing. But unfortunately, because sending a satellite to orbit a heavenly body is "fairly mundane," instead of conceding, many seem to have retreated to "all space is fake and gay" flat earthers (or something).
