US has moved most of its air defense batteries in Europe and in Japan to the Middle East. Some say even systems based in America have been moved to the Middle East as well.

But it doesn't seem like Russia ever prepared itself for an invasion or an attack on Europe. If anything, Russia wants to fight NATO in Ukraine if anywhere.
