There's an interesting part about praying for the "Three who make it here late". It foreshadows the death of John Bonham and makes me wonder if he was a sacrifice, in lieu of asphyxiating on his own vomit, as they said was the case with Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison.
It's said that every superstar is required to sign a deal with the devil to guarantee success - and I know Zeppelin did with the exception of John Paul Jones. But in that contract they are required to sacrifice someone they love, that being a parent or child. Robert Plant lost his son Karak to a "stomach disease" and I can't help but wonder if he too was actually a sacrifice.
Quality theorizing, from what I've heard, it was Page that was into satanistic things and pushed for the backmasking, when weird stuff started happening the rest of the band was pissed and almost broke up and then Bonham died and sealed it. From what I heard.

There's no good theory here. It's a rehash of the most infamous stupidity humanity has ever had. The Satanic Panic, where people were convinced if you play a rock song backwards, it calls to the devil.
The reason the theory works is because when you can't understand shit, your brain will start hearing words in it. A song played backwards is basically unintelligible.
I can prove this. Listen to a song in a foreign language you don't know, and you'll hear English words that aren't in it, because that's what your brain does understand, and it makes those connections even though there's no real basis.
When these people were looking for references to the devil, their mind created them because they were in the mindset of looking for it.
