Nice list! A small but significant correction: Japan attacked the Philippines on the same day they attacked Pearl Harbor, Japan time. It was a mere 10 hours later. Japan was an absolutely horrible military in terms of their treatment of anyone they came in contact with, including their own people. In this way the comparison with present day Hamas is uncanny.
