Exactly. Carbs and starches should be used sparingly. I remember the Adkins crazy in the mid-2000s and how Harper's ran that hit piece which lead people to think Adkins "died of his own diet" (he didn't).
If that trend had continued, Americans would be way less obese today and we would have a lot better low carb food options.
Oh yeah, you get odd stuff with some foreign cultures, where all their previous generations never ate some types of foods. Like the natives here, they can have issues with getting fat. You're not supposed to eat that much sugar and I bet their ancestors didn't have too much. Well, wouldn't it be like that for other cultures too. Some of these foreign people though, when they eat what North Americans do, they can have issues. They tend to keep eating what they did over there though. What happens is when they get on welfare they buy the cheapest stuff which is this junk-food. Then they start having those health problems it's warning about in the news the other day.
