If you believe the official story, they kept Anne Heche on life support for three days, not to discuss possible ways of saving her but to discuss her juicy organs.
Who knows what she may have been feeling during that time or while they were cutting those organs out of her.
California had already declared her legally dead so they likely had the green light to use whatever methods were best for the organs, not the patient.
