BCE/CE (Before the Common Era/Common Era) makes no sense because it refers to exactly the same event as BC/AD (Before Christ/Anno Domini or 'Year of Our Lord')
"Common Era" name, IMO means nothing, it's just an attempt to keep opposing religions happy without mentioning Jesus. Similar to using "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas".
