Growing up, they'd say, if you step on a rusty nail, go get a Tetanus shot. (cdn.videy.co)

You cannot contract tetanus, you can get foreign particles in your body, then your own bacteria will activate staph, and that's all. Bacteria infections come from imbalances in your diet. Staph is a good bacteria for you, as long as you don't scratch it and spread it all over

Mine too. I was about 13 and stepped on a rusty nail in a creek and got a tetanus shot. Nothing since and I'm ~51 years old at present.

If I die, oh well.

I researched this years back and came to the same realization that it’s a bacteria that causes tetanus.

Makes sense. Why would a rusty nail cause you to be sick?

Turns out it’s just a delivery mechanism for the bacteria. And the bacteria primarily exists on farms.

When most of the population was still rural, this was a big deal. But now most people live in cities or suburbs and aren’t even at risk.

Thing is even in this video he says "exists in animal manure and sometimes soil and dust."

From what i understand, its in everything.

What I never understood is how humans survived stuff like this before they made the vaccines lmao. It seems obvious to me that most people have a natural immunity to it.

I actually got a tetanus shot right before getting poisoned at arca. I was already experiencing some things like anxiety and increased blood pressure, washing dishes one night, wasnt thinking tried to stick my hand in a cup and it nearly lopped off my thumb knuckle when it broke apart.

My partner talked me into going to the ER, went there and sat for 6 hours to get 15 stitches.

But at one point a nurse come at me with a "tetanus" shot, since I couldnt remember the last time I had one. I wasnt going to take it but my partner talked me into it. Ive had them a few times before living in the country.

Was only a few months after that I got the full blown cardiac sensitizing, very classic case. I never thought about whether the tetanus shot could have had anything to do with it. I was only focused on the cardiac sensitizing agents I worked with, f12 and f134a. Since it happened months after the shot, I assumed it had nothing to do with that.

:shrugs:
