I'm starting to come around on this and I think you're somewhat correct that the H1B focus is probably a distraction.
Well over one million new permanent residents (Green Cards) per year, depending on the year 1-4 million new illegals, and uncountable temporary workers of all kinds, H1, H2, L1, O1 and many more.
Focusing on the H1B and finding a "solution" for that will put the population at ease and they'll stop caring about it. Same with bringing back workplace raids for illegals, they'll do a few high profile small raids and the population will be appeased and stop paying attention.
Either way, let's not forget the reasons they do all of this crap:
Fed system is dependent on inflation, which requires a constant new stream of immigrants to hide it
They need to destroy Western civilization in order to bring in the new system, and flooding the system with immigration is a major part of that in several ways

Are they really using this more than H1B? Doesn't sound like it, but I guess it is possible.
