I know what non-believers say when they are turned off by the passivity they see among Christians. It's not all to be sure, but I just witnessed it and it makes my stomach turn. This woman's husband is dying, and people are giving her advice. She has basically given him over to godless doctors who will chemo him to death. Her refrain is "ultimately it is in God's hands".
I think any serious student of the Bible knows God will not accept that as an excuse for your cowardice. "Well I prayed, so I'm done" is bs. You prayed, and now God has put people in your life who could help you, but you need to be willing to fight. If not for your own family than for who? It just seems so lukewarm.
Meanwhile some of the commenters (and her herself) are more concerned about how SHE is doing. "I'm already doing better, thanks". "Don't let it ruin your peace". Your husband is dying, and you're just accepting it without a proper fight! Some random stranger on the internet is fighting for your family more than you!
PS: I know this isn't the forum for this, but I'm banned from the so-called "Christian" community here because I refuse to say the Vatican is anything but of the devil himself.
Your ban was reduced to one year and expired about two months ago. You are free to contribute to c/Christianity.
Keep in mind the general rules, and guidelines for disagreements (first pinned comment). For instance, stay on topic, be considerate of others, use evidence rather than sweeping assertions, keep tone civil, and commit to pursue the truth wherever it leads. I apologize that this wasn't conveyed to you at the time it happened.
As to the situation described in OP, I'm not sure which prayer request it refers to. But thanks for sharing your views!
The passivity issue in the OP is not from this platform, but I will keep them anonymous.
I will look at the rules posted. But regarding a satanic entity, I'm not willing to sugar coat that. If something is a blood thirsty institution I will call it such.
