Humans have this capacity anytime they want. Other experiments show anyone who chooses can set their own cycle; babies do cycles of 2-3 hours, but as you mature you can get to 36-48 or longer consistently. The biggest challenge is the act of will to be going against both the sun and the external culture, but in the absence of both it's much easier!
Ok, I hear you want to do your own experiments, that's cool. But somethings we dont have time for. We wasn't looking to modify his consciousness. He was looking for the natural rhythm. We know from the Bible we are supposed to have 13 months. That weve allowed that to be modified to 12 already distorts our consciousness. Is the actual what he said? I'm not sure, but I'm sure the one we do now is illogical to the order of the cosmos.
It's been done. If one "rhythm" is more natural than others, I've heard it is actually 25-26 hours, but I don't believe that because I think that a wide range is adaptably natural and 24 is one of those.
On a meta level, the Bible doesn't imply 13 months, instead it implies that math is fuzzy and the 12/13 disparity is intentional, like various other disparities; see Proverbs repeatedly about the 6/7 disparity. But I totally agree that we've lost the moon, and when I regained the moon it was an eye-opener and I could walk both cycles, the moon and the sun. That is, the Biblical calendar is lunisolar, not lunar (Muslim) or solar (majority Christianity).
So the order includes certain deliberate irrationalities, but when you understand them they become as beautiful and easy as pi. Let me know if my haste is less than scrutable.
I'm sure we are more than two hours off. But if they're instincts are correct then it's at least upside down. 6am should be the start not 12.
