It's been done. If one "rhythm" is more natural than others, I've heard it is actually 25-26 hours, but I don't believe that because I think that a wide range is adaptably natural and 24 is one of those.
On a meta level, the Bible doesn't imply 13 months, instead it implies that math is fuzzy and the 12/13 disparity is intentional, like various other disparities; see Proverbs repeatedly about the 6/7 disparity. But I totally agree that we've lost the moon, and when I regained the moon it was an eye-opener and I could walk both cycles, the moon and the sun. That is, the Biblical calendar is lunisolar, not lunar (Muslim) or solar (majority Christianity).
So the order includes certain deliberate irrationalities, but when you understand them they become as beautiful and easy as pi. Let me know if my haste is less than scrutable.

I believe this is the same YouTuber whose illiteracy about the 1775 Bible was palpable. Without watching it, he's likely the one whose Bible preface in the fine print says "intercalary", which means exactly what mathematicians have agreed for centuries, that it's sometimes 12 and sometimes 13, on an average of (irrationally near) 7 out of every 19 years. I've reconciled with the notion that it's deliberately (about) 12-7/19, not 12 or 13.
Background evidence for this line of thought is how God likes to focus on dates that round to multiples of three, seven, or ten in the monthly cycle.
We've just had a good unfinished dialogue here about whether the "real" day starts at dawn or otherwise (Julian days start at noon). My conclusion, as with OP, is that there are several answers that all work, without contradiction.
I'm sure we are more than two hours off. But if they're instincts are correct then it's at least upside down. 6am should be the start not 12.
