Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Registrar Charlie Norman said 2,353 Haitian immigrants in Clark County have driver’s licenses. And to get them, he said they must provide documentation to get a license – just like everyone else.
“There’s no shortcut or exception on testing for the immigrant community," Norman said. "They have to go through the same exact process as a native Ohioan"
Ohio currently doesn't require driver education training for anyone over 18 years old.
I love how they pretend that having the proper documentation = knowing how to operate a vehicle.

But all I think this is saying that they dont need to do the education training, they can just take the drivers test, and hope they pass.

“An immigrant attempting to get a credential, an ID or (driver's license), has to provide us with original copies of their immigration paperwork," Norman said. "We check that there at the counter, the point of service, through an electronic check with the USCIS database to verify validity and authenticity."
I think this means you have to be a valid us resident/citizen. Ohio is not a state where you can get a license without having the proper immigration papers. Places like california and some other sanctuary cities will give a license without proper documentation.
I assume the "valid documents" aka, they already had a drivers license in their home country, then they can transfer it to a ohio one. But it sounds like even if you are one of the few there who had a license, your driving skills prolly arent up to snuff here.
Gov. Mike DeWine said Haitians have limited access to cars in their home country so when they come here, they lack driver training. DeWine said he will boost opportunities for driver education and try to overcome language barriers that contribute to driver confusion.
But the article is a little hard to understand. So who knows.
I know when I immigrated to canada, I figured I would have to at least take a written test again or something.
Nope they just cut my ohio license up in front of me and issued me a nova scotia one.
Pretty random but since were talking about driving.
A Canadian woman who stopped her car on the highway to rescue ducklings, inadvertently causing the deaths of a motorcyclist and his daughter, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and banned from driving for 10 years on Thursday.
I suspect they had Haiti driver licenses, and their test is even worse than ours to easily pass. For those retarded women, i suspect jailtime is not needed. Rather a $500k fine and 5 year/permanent driving suspension. Depends on their prior driving offenses. Most normal retards punish themselves enough for causing accidental death. And most punishments seem to fail to deter future retards anyway. And i think they can still be sued in civil court.
Norman said while a native Ohioan might use a birth certificate for identification, a Haitian immigrant would use a different form of ID in the process.

The only paperwork they care about is identification. They don't give a shit if they can drive or not.

That's quite an assumption based on nothing. The article tiptoes around the obvious here but makes it clear that immigration paperwork (identification) is all they need and want.
Being able to drive at all is not a requirement to get a license in Ohio if you're over 18 years old. They dgaf if you're capable of doing it safely ot not.
So why are we all doing drivers education and taking driving tests?!?!
This system is not set up for these challenges and these people are too ideologically driven to acknowledge it at best or have malicious intent at worst.

I am proably wrong ( I often am. )

Compare that to the canadian who pulled over in the median trying to rescue some ducks years ago.
:shrugs:

Come back when you have some facts instead of suspicions.

Eh, why not? Not like the drivers we have now are any good. Get rid of some government bloat at least.
