MedRide in Colorado. Yeah, but it's mainly African immigrants doing that here. Mostly it's about getting drug addicts to the methadone clinic. It's my understanding they get $75 per person, round trip and get 5 junkies in the SUV or more per trip from La Junta to the clinic in Pueblo. They look for junkies and offer them $20 per ride cash kickback. I know this because my daughter is a junkie and laid out the whole scam to me. That's how she could afford cigarettes and a little something for a fix every day. She also gets food stamps (EBT card) and a small stipend. She just came back to my house Sunday to "clean up" and tried asking me for $20 a day. I laughed and told her she gets a pack of cigarettes, a ride to the clinic (locally), a place to sleep and food. She's being very edgy while coming down. We'll see if she gets clean. Oh, and she's not allowed to have anyone meet her, leave the house or call anyone. If she wants to live at my house, that's just how it is. She thinks I'm going to give in and threatened me she's going back to the streets. I told her good luck, I won't be helping her if she does that
Thank you. It's tougher on my wife because she's home all day and has to deal with her. She went from a high paying nursing job (making more money than me) and owning her own house before the prices shot up to living on the streets. She wouldn't eat leftovers before the addiction and had no problems eating out of a trash can after getting strung out. Her kids want her back too, but they don't want her using drugs around them. She had about 90 days clean and relapsed. My wife doesn't want to give her any more chances, but I'll never give up on her.
What work is there in Springfield? The Hatian says there is work there. We need to know what employers are offering jobs to these people.
