No one actually believes in secure, sovereign, domestic elections. For example corporate shares can be purchased by any foreign nationals and then the corporations can donate to campaigns and lobby politicians so just via corporatism in politics you have massive amounts of interference in domestic American politics. The billions of dollars of foreign aid is meddling in sovereign elections. The cia meddles in elections and even overthrows foreign leaders. We allow foreign diplomates to be inside our country meddling with immunity to the law to boot. Etc. etc.
